A family has been cleared of killing a young man during a suspected exorcism at their £1.3 million home in north London. Kennedy Ife, 26, was handcuffed and tied up because his parents and brothers feared he had been possessed by evil spirits, the Old Bailey heard. The prosecution claimed the IT consultant was restrained for 67 hours at the seven-bedroom mansion in Enfield and treated like an "animal" or "detainee".» more

A finance student who was caught with a stun gun and had wraps of crack cocaine and heroin hidden inside her bra and knickers when stopped by police in Hammersmith has been jailed for five years.  Officers found the 11cm stun gun disguised as a torch in the Ford Focus driven by Sanura “Sunny” Kiboma, 19. A teenager has appeared in court accused of murdering 17-year-old girl scout Jodie Chesney. Svenson Ong-a-kwie appeared at Barkingside Magistrates' Court in east London on Thursday charged with one count of murder. The 18-year-old, of Hillfoot Road in Romford, is the third person to be charged with the murder of Jodie. He was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, the court said. Jodie was fatally stabbed in a park in Harold Hill, east London, on March 1 as she listened to music with a group of friends. A man and a boy have also been charged with her murder. Manuel Petrovic, 20, of Highfield Road, Romford, and a 16-year-old, who cannot be named, are both due to face trial at the Old Bailey in September. Another three people, a 50-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, both from Dagenham, and a 17-year-old boy who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have all been released under investigation.» more
